Clare Parishes and Cemeteries – Overview

In this section of the website, you will find:

* a Parish page with a brief history and photos for each parish;

* a Cemetery page for each parish with a map showing the locations of each cemetery and points of interest about the cemetery.

These two pages will be hot-linked to each other so the reader can easily go from one to the other. You can go directly to a particular parish by choosing it on the sidebar menu (list) on the right (Parish Information). The menu below the photo on the right (Grave Marker Photos) will take you to the grave marker photo database for the cemetery you choose. If you wish to use the search function to find a particular gravestone, you will find the search function on the Navigation Bar under Cemeteries:  “Search for People”.

You will note the photo of the Virgin Mary on the sidebar; this photo was taken at the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes grotto in the St-Alphonse-de-Clare church in Clare. Because she is the Patron Saint of the Acadians, I have chosen to have this photo appear on every Parish page.

We will continue to add material about each Parish. If you have photos, history or anecdotes about any Parish and/or cemetery, we would love to hear from you. As a genealogist, I am also particularly interested in learning about the individuals who worked on the church construction projects.
